A variety of activities are offered to students after school. These may be provided by staff members or by volunteers from the community. While some activities are sponsored by the school, (i.e. Ferrisburgh Children's Theater, FCS Basketball, Minecraft and Science clubs) others are supported by outside agencies such as the Boy Scout and Girl Scout Programs, The Boys and Girls Club of Vergennes and the Ferrisburgh Recreation Department. Though the school cannot accept responsibility for the management and supervision of programs that are not approved by the ACS Board, it does encourage and support activities which are in the best interest of its students.
Parents should be aware of the nature of a program, its supervisory structure and transportation arrangements before they permit their children to participate.
If a child is absent from school due to illness, it is not appropriate for him/her to take part in any after school activity that day.
ANWSD offers after school and summer opportunities for our students. The ANWSD operates licensed child care programs at all ANWSD elementary schools. For more information please go to the following link. The page includes information on applying for a childcare subsidy for those who are eligible.
